Evan Grabelsky, 32, was found with multiple stab wounds at his home on Elliott Street and Frankel Boulevard in Merrick around 11:45 p.m. Saturday, June 1 after what police described as a lengthy struggle. He was pronounced dead a short time later.
Ryan Lindquist of Massapequa has been charged with second-degree murder, Nassau County Police announced Saturday, June 15. Lindquist and Grabelsky, a teaching assistant at Great Neck North High School, were involved in a romantic relationship for more than a year, Det. Lt. Stephen Fitzpatrick, commanding officer of the Nassau County Homicide Squad, said.
Police described the incident as a domestic dispute that started in the bedroom and moved throughout the house, finally ending on a landing outside the den and that Grabelsky had been stabbed more than 100 times.
Lindquist, who was arrested Friday, June 14, was remanded without bail. He is due back in court Tuesday, June 18.
